Videography Basics
Instructor – Harry Shelton
Harry Shelton, retired Video Engineer, TV Director and Producer, instructs amateurs and professionals alike in the latest trends in videography, video editing and video streaming that are easily accomplished with consumer cameras, smartphones, and laptop computers.
This four-week course (12 Hours) covers High Definition Camera basics and Editing Software that everyone can use with only a few hours of instruction to add music, titles, and effects to your video creations. The principles and procedures to stream live video over the Internet using free software will prepare students to create their own original programs for leisure or work related topics and present them on Youtube.com, Vimeo.com, Instagram.com, and Facebook.com.
Required equipment: Smartphone or camcorder and a laptop.
Required Software: Video Pad software from NCHsoftware.com (Download Trial Copy) and Open Broadcast Studio from https://obsproject.com/ (Open Source) are recommended programs. (No purchase required).

About the Instructor:
Harry Shelton is an independent video producer, published author and former Technical Director for KRIV-TV (Fox Television Stations Inc.). Harry worked on News, Sports and Entertainment telecasts for over 22 years. He received a degree in English-Creative Writing from the University of Texas-El Paso. Harry wrote and published “The Invention of Television”, a non-fiction historical account of how television came to be invented in the United States and Europe in the early 20th Century. In 2022 He wrote, produced, and edited “Team Space One”, a kid-friendly, space-based action-adventure comedy (search: Team Space One on Youtube.com). Harry is excited to share his expertise and expertise teaching Videography at the Gilruth Center.
