Marshall Shutdown Operations Guidance

- 211 Connects Alabama: Dial 2-1-1 for information about health and human service organizations in your community, including food banks, clothing, shelters, rent assistance, utility assistance; local services and programs.
- Financial institutions have tools and options to help if the furlough is creating a financial burden. Many can offer deferred loan payments, provide low-interest or interest free loans, and offer financial counseling. Reach out directly to local financial institutions to discuss your situation.
- Service providers (utilities, telephone, cable) may also have modified or deferred payment options available. Reach out to your providers directly to see what options are available if you need assistance. Huntsville Utilities is encouraging customers who need assistance to contact them at 256-535-1200 or custserv@hsvutil.org.
- The Employee Assistance Program remains available and open for employees needing mental health and other assistance. Call 256-698-9589 for Marshall employees. For urgent mental health counseling outside of normal business hours, call NASA’s after-hours service at 1-888-964-3032. For emergencies, call 911.
- Food Bank of North Alabama is providing food for those that need it.

- Government benefits | USAGov is a U.S. government website that helps citizens find information about and determine their eligibility for various government benefit and assistance programs.
- MyFEDBenefits has relaunched its Shutdown Assistance Map (SAM), which lists local businesses and organizations offering help to furloughed federal workers. You can:
- Click on Alabama to see local offers
- Find food pantries, discounts, and emergency services
- View national offers from banks, credit unions, and auto lenders
- Redstone Arsenal is open. Download the “MyArmyPost” app to get real-time updates and gate information.
- The Visitor Control Center at Gate 9 and Marshall’s Badging Office at Building 4312 is open.
