NASA Awards Contract for Space Geodesy Satellite Laser Ranging Stations

NASA has awarded a contract to KBRwyle Technology Solutions, LLC in Columbia, Maryland, for the construction, deployment and commissioning of the agency’s next-generation Space Geodesy Satellite Laser Ranging (SGSLR) stations.

This is a cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with a maximum ordering value of $48 million. The contract has a 30-day phase-in period beginning Sept. 24 and a seven-year ordering period that begins Oct. 24.

The SGSLR stations are part of NASA’s Space Geodesy Project, which contributes to the Global Geodetic Observing System. The contractor will deliver up to six SGSLR stations, to include completion and deployment of two stations being developed in-house at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The work will be performed at NASA centers and related facilities, the contractor’s facilities in Lanham, Maryland, and NASA partner facilities, including stations in Texas, Hawaii and Norway.
