Professional Biography
After working as part of the IT support team at the Ames Research Center for years, Sam joined the Earth Science Project Office (ESPO) in May of 2021 as their newest systems administrator. His job duties in this new role would expand far beyond his previous experience of merely providing IT support, as all members of ESPO take on myriad responsibilities when on deployment. While the transition has had its fair share of challenges, it has also been an incredibly rewarding experience.
Since his arrival, Sam has been an eager participant in numerous projects including the Convective Processes Experiment (CPEX) campaign, the Asian Summer Monsoon Chemical and CLimate [sic] Impact Project (ACCLIP), the Dynamics and Chemistry of the Summer Stratosphere (DCOTSS) project, the Investigation of Microphysics and Precipitation for Atlantic Coast-Threatening Snowstorms (IMPACTS), the Sub-Mesoscale Ocean Dynamics Experiment (S-MODE), Atmospheric Emissions and Reactions Observed from Megacities to Marine Areas (AEROMMA), and the Synergistic TEMPO Air Quality Science (STAQS) mission providing support primarily through network setup in addition to the plethora of tasks that come up for ESPO throughout their missions and projects.
Sam looks forward to providing continued support to ESPO’s upcoming and future projects, striving to do anything and everything he can to assist in their success.
