Nikki Tubbs

Nicolina “Nikki” Tubbs is the Director of the Support Operations Directorate of the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC), located in Hancock County, Mississippi. She began a detail to the Senior Executive Service (SES) position in August 2021 and assumed the position permanently on July 28, 2022. In this role, Ms. Tubbs is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day management of the Directorate’s three divisions: Strategic Integration and Communications, Budget and Accounting, and Information Resources, and National Center for Critical Information Processing & Storage.

Ms. Tubbs began her civil service career as a cooperative education student with NASA Langley Research Center in 2002 and was converted to an accountant in May 2005. Six months later, Ms. Tubbs was selected for a cost accountant position at the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC). In May 2009, Ms. Tubbs was selected as the Lead Accountant for Accounts Payable within the Financial Management Services Division (FMSD) at the NSSC. Over the next six years, Ms. Tubbs held a variety of leadership positions with increasing level of responsibilities in the FMSD. Ms. Tubbs was selected for a detail assignment as the Deputy, Chief Financial Officer for Finance at Ames Research Center in January 2015 and was permanently selected for the position in January 2016. During the five years serving as part of the Ames Office of the Chief Financial Officer leadership team,

Ms. Tubbs also performed a six-month detail assignment as Chief of the Mission Directorate and Program Analysis Division. Ms. Tubbs was welcomed back to the NSSC in December 2019 as the Chief for Financial Management Services. Ms. Tubbs was detailed as Deputy Director of the Support Operations Directorate from January through August 2021.

Ms. Tubbs’ awards include a NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal in 2019, a NASA Exceptional Service Medal in 2013, and a NASA Silver Snoopy Award in 2006.

Ms. Tubbs holds a master’s degree in business administration from the College of William and Mary and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Christopher Newport University.
