Justin Junod

Kennedy Space Center Ombudsman

Justin Junod is currently the civil engineering lead within the Construction of Facilities Division of the Center Operations Directorate at NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida.

Experience

In 2000, Junod began his career with NASA as a cooperative education student in the Facilities Engineering Division where he spent 10 years serving in the roles of project manager, lead design engineer and construction manager for Institutional and Programmatic facilities and systems.

During his participation in NASA’s Mid-Level Leader Program, he spent six months at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center supporting the development of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-R (GOES-R) Program.  In his role supporting the observatory manager, he supported the development and validation of the subsystem and primary system PDR’s, the system integration and test support systems evaluations.

In addition to his Institutional and Programmatic experiences, Junod has supported several source boards and has successfully chaired a Price Past Performance Tradeoff (PPTO) proposal evaluation team for the Modify VAB High Bay 3 for SLS platforms project.

Education

He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where he received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and a Master of Science in industrial engineering.  He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Personal

Junod was born in Syracuse, N. Y., and moved to Clearwater, Fla., in 1982. 

Junod, his wife Leslie, and their children Gavin and Peyton currently reside in Orlando, Fla.  He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing golf and volunteering with children’s charities.
