Jeanne O’Bryan serves as the chief information officer at NASA’s John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida.

Experience

Previously, she served as the acting director for Workplace and Collaboration Services (WCS) within the NASA Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Prior to her appointment, she served in OCIO executive leadership roles during the OCIO transformation and as acting associate chief information officer for the NASA’s End User Services (EUS) program (now called WCS). In this capacity, she was responsible for program and financial management, as well as strategic direction for operations in the WCS area. This role provided service delivery and provided NASA customers with the tools, technology, and products they need to get NASA work done. 

O’Bryan served as the deputy director of the Information Technology (IT) and Communications Services Directorate and the deputy chief information officer (DCIO) at Kennedy. In this position, she was responsible for ensuring KSC information systems were acquired and managed in accordance with federal requirements and agency policy.

O’Bryan joined NASA/KSC in 1991 and worked in the Payloads Management and Operations Directorate. She served as an electronic messaging administrator, a network design engineer, and project manager. Other positions at the agency include serving as lead for KSC’s transition to the Outsourcing Desktop Initiative for NASA (ODIN) contract, project manager in the Office for Spaceflight Lead Service Center and the OSF ODIN delivery order contracting officer technical representative (COTR), and Information Systems division chief.

Awards

She has received several prestigious honors during her time at the agency, including the KSC Center Director’s Award in 2015. Additionally, she received the NASA Exceptional Service Medal in 2004, the NASA Space Flight Awareness Award for leadership and managerial excellence in 2002, an Exceptional Achievement Medal in 1998, and a NASA Silver Snoopy award in 1997.

She received two Acquisition Improvement awards and was nominated for the Space Coast Section of Society of Women Engineers – Distinguished New Woman award. She has participated in several leadership development programs, including the Federal Executive Institute’s Leadership for a Democratic Society program.
