Edward A. Healy, Jr
Senior Advisor
Edward A. Healy is the Senior Advisor in the NASA Office of Strategic Infrastructure and is a member of the Senior Executive Service. Previously, he was the Program Manager for NASA’s Mission Support Future Architecture Program. In this position, Mr. Healy provided strategic leadership to help NASA’s Mission Support organizations reengineer and transform to an NASA Enterprise wide model. Prior to this position, Mr. Healy served as Director of Engineering, Deputy Director in the Research and Technology Directorate, Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity Programs at NASA Langley Research Center, also as Deputy Director in the NASA Independent Program Assessment Office and Executive Officer in the Office of the NASA Administrator.
Mr. Healy is retired from the United States Army. While with the Army, Mr. Healy held several leadership and supervisory positions in operational units, project management, research management, and engineering management. His last Army assignment was as Associate Director for Vehicle Technology Programs in the Army Research Laboratory. Prior to that, he managed two Army aircraft development projects. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Engineering Mathematics at West Point and as the Chief Test Pilot at Corpus Christi Army Depot. Earlier in his career, Mr. Healy served in Army operational aviation units in Europe and is a rated pilot in 6 different airplanes and helicopters.
Education
Mr. Healy earned a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from the United States Military Academy, a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Masters in Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. He graduated from the Harvard Senior Executive Fellows program and the Federal Executive Institute. Mr Healy has received several awards and decorations including the Department of Defense Legion of Merit, the NASA Exceptional Service Medal and Equal Employment Opportunity Medal.
Personal
He and his wife, Liz, reside in Norfolk, Virginia and have one daughter, Madelyn and two sons, Patrick and Blair.
