Sally Godfrey – NESC Academy Biography
Ms. Sally Godfrey retired in 2015, after working for NASA for over 38 years, beginning her career as a software developer and analyst during the Gemini and Apollo years, and later working on the development and management of many large software ground systems, including GRO, COBE, UARS, EO-1 and JPSS.
Ms. Godfrey also spent a number of years in the areas of software research, measurement, and process improvement, working with the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) Software Engineering Laboratory, and the NASA Software Working Group and she was the Software Process Improvement Lead at GSFC, leading the implementation of NPR 7150.2 and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).
Currently Ms. Godfrey is working part time with NASA Headquarters in the area of software assurance and with the CMMI Institute to help develop the next version of CMMI .
