NASA Adds Ames Requirements to Protective Services Contract

NASA has completed an in-scope modification to add the protective services requirements of the agency’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley into the NASA Protective Services Contract – South Region (NPSC-SR).

NASA awarded the contract in 2021 to Chenega Global Protection LLC of Chantilly, Virginia, an 8(a) small business, to provide protective services at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, White Sands Testing Facility and White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, and Stennis Space Center in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity NPSC-SR began on Dec. 1, 2021, with a 22-month base period followed by three one-year options, which, if exercised, would extend the contract through Sept. 30, 2026. This modification, valued at $54.9 million, adds Ames Research Center to the contract’s existing three one-year options beginning Oct. 1.

The protective services covered by the contract include physical security operations; information security and communications security; emergency management, protective services communication center operations; facility security assessment; identity credential access management; identity management and personnel security; vehicle management; and NASA protective services training.
