PLANS ‘MISSION TO MARS’

HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. – StenniSphere’s next Astro Camp Saturday, themed “Mission to Mars,” blasts off Oct. 16, 2004. This session of the popular space camp will take future astronauts and rocket scientists ages 9-12 on an adventure to the Red Planet. Astro Camp Saturday Mission to Mars is a one-day mission in which campers learn about Mars, how astronauts will travel there, what the planet’s environment is like and how people will create an environment in which to live and work. A highlight will be building and launching a rocket. The camp takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at StenniSphere, the visitor center at NASA Stennis Space Center, America’s largest rocket test complex. The cost for this camp is $50 per child, which includes supplies. Campers blast off for their missions from the Launch Pad, located at the Hancock County Welcome Center, I-10, Exit 2.
