STENNISPHERE LAUNCHES FAMILIES ON ‘GRAND’ SPACE ADVENTURE HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. – This fall, StenniSphere’s Astro Camp Saturday at NASA Stennis Space Center gives space buffs of all ages a chance to explore space! Astro Camp Saturday is a oneday camp in which campers build and launch rockets, go on a space treasure hunt and even experience a time warp simulation.

Rocketry 101, a special mission for grandparents and their grandchildren ages 8 to 12, will take place Saturday, Sept. 11, in observance of National Grandparents Day. Together, grandparents and their grandchildren will team up to build and launch a rocket. The mission will look back to the exciting Apollo Moon missions of the 1960s, and ahead to NASA’s plan to return to the Moon. The cost for this camp is $50 per child (and no charge for grandparents).

Campers blast off for their missions from the Launch Pad, located at the Hancock County Welcome Center, I-10, Exit 2.
