Welcome to “Meet the Authors”! The goal of this series is to foster direct engagement between researchers and a broad public ranging from students, early career scientists, academics, industry professionals, and more.  In this virtual interview panel session, four authors will present their publications, answer moderator questions, and address questions from the audience.  

This upcoming session on January 23, 2025 (9 am – 10 am PT) features Dr Afshin Beheshti of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr Begum Mathyk of the University of South Florida, Dr Joseph Borg of the University of Malta, and Dr Jakub Mieczkowski of the Medical University of Gdansk, speaking on the following publications, respectively: 

• Space radiation damage rescued by inhibition of key spaceflight-associated miRNAs 

• Spaceflight induces changes in gene expression profiles linked to insulin and estrogen 

• Spatiotemporal expression and control of haemoglobin in space 
• Chromosomal positioning and epigenetic architecture influence DNA methylation patterns triggered by galactic cosmic radiation
