Entergy’s New Orleans Solar Station (20MW)

Entergy’s New Orleans Solar Station (NOSS) is a power plant that resides on approximately 100 acres  at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility on land that was previously undeveloped. Completed in December of 2020, the facility is part of Entergy’s renewable energy portfolio. Together with Entergy New Orleans’ nearby gas-powered plant, both plants provide power to New Orleans area communities. Following Entergy’s green energy Michoud Solar Plant benefits, Entergy is now developing additional solar facilities in neighboring St. James and Washington Parishes. When fully operational, the three solar facilities will account for 10% of Entergy’s power generation and assist Louisiana customers.

Entergy New Orleans is moving to meet mandates for a 90% renewable energy output by 2040.  The New Orleans Solar Station is a 20 megawatt power plant that consists of 1.6M pieces to its foundation, over 70,560 solar modules and can be monitored and operated remotely.
