Season

Solar Eclipse

Something that happens when the moon comes between the sun and Earth so that all or part of the sun’s light is blocked from Earth.

Solar Flares

Storms on the sun that send out both rays and particles.

A loud noise caused by the meeting of shock waves made when an object goes faster than the speed of sound.

Speed of Sound

The rate at which a sound wave travels through something, such as air or water. This rate can change depending on air temperature and density. In Earth’s atmosphere, at sea level on a normal day, this equals about 760 miles per hour.

The Bell X-1 was the first aircraft to fly faster than the speed of sound.

Stage
