Astronaut Suni Williams installs the Packed Bed Reactor Experiment
iss071e485832 (Aug. 15, 2024) NASA astronaut Suni Williams installs hardware for the Packed Bed Reactor Experiment. In a packed bed reactor, a tube is filled or packed with porous beads to increase contact between a liquid and a gas flowing through it. These reactors have a variety of applications in life support systems, including water recovery and thermal management, and in fuel cells in space and on Earth.
