Icing Research Tunnel
Workers at NASA's Lewis (now Glenn) Research Center observe as a commuter transport engine undergoes testing in the Icing Research Tunnel in 1983. The tunnel is used to simulate the formation of ice on aircraft surfaces during flight. Cold water is sprayed into the tunnel and freezes on the test model.
