S84-28203 (24 Feb 1984) --- Astronaut Steven A. Hawley, 41-D mission specialist, completes suiting up procedures before being submerged in the Johnson Space Center's (JSC) 25 ft. deep weightless environment training facility (WET-F). Obscured behind Dr. Hawley is astronaut Richard M. (Mike) Mullane, 41-D mission specialist. later the pair were lowered into the facility for an underwater simulation of a contingent extravehicular activity for the week-long flight.
