On June 6, 2002, technicians are assisted as they finish donning self-contained atmospheric protective ensample, or SCAPE suits. The rubber coated garments protect technicians in the event of exposure to toxic chemicals such as rocket propellants while processing space shuttles, as well as fueling satellites and other space probes. These technicians were preparing to fuel the Comet Nucleus Tour, or CONTOUR, probe in the Spacecraft Assembly and Encapsulation Facility 2 in the Kennedy Space Center's Industrial Area.
