What makes your job at NASA exciting or unique?

I get to work with the smartest, most interesting people on Earth. I get to do interesting research with top universities and participate in international events. I am matrixed to a fantastic organization. Unique: we fly the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite (TDRS) constellation of relay satellites which is absolutely unique.

How does your job contribute to the Artemis missions and beyond?

I am part of team developing communications protocols and systems for near earth, lunar and beyond communications. This includes microwave, optical and quantum communications.

What was your inspiration growing up?

I had many inspirational figures, probably the most important are my mother and grandmother.

What’s your favorite thing about working for NASA?

If you are lucky enough to land in the right organization, with the right management, there are no boundaries. And on top of all that: it’s NASA.
