What makes your job at NASA exciting or unique?
The Chief Safety and Mission Assurance Officer is the technical authority responsible for quality assurance, safety assurance, reliability, and more. It is a complex environment and there is always something new and different to work on.
How does your position contribute to NASA’s mission of exploration?
My role is to be sure all flight hardware is built according to quality assurance processes. I help to make sure everyone has thought through processes they use so that when the mission eventually flies, it is successful.
What is your favorite thing about working for NASA?
I am always meeting new people. One thing you learn from working at NASA is that you know very little when compared to the wide range of knowledge and people it takes to complete NASA missions. Meeting people and learning how we can all help each other keeps me going every day.
