NASA Dryden’s F-15B Research Test bed roared aloft from the Edwards AFB main runway for a Supersonic Boundary Layer Transition – Phase II, or SBLT-II, research flight. The experiment, being conducted in partnership with Aerion Corporation, involved flying a small Aerion-designed test airfoil attached underneath the F-15B to investigate the extent and robustness of natural laminar flow over the test section at supersonic speeds.April 19, 2013
