The Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, SOFIA, sit on the ramp at Daytona Beach International Airport with a passing thunderstorm in the background before sunset. The SOFIA team deployed to Daytona Beach to study the atmosphere of Neptune’s moon Triton as it cast a faint shadow on Earth’s surface on Oct. 5. This was the first chance to investigate Triton’s atmosphere in 16 years.
