Madeira is an archipelago of four islands located off the northwest coast of Africa. They are an autonomous region of Portugal.
The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite captured this natural-color image at 8:25 a.m. EDT (12:05 UTC).
