Explanation or story behind the patch: The X-36A was a new generation of aircraft, in the transition from Remotely Piloted Research Vehicles to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The X-36A pioneered many technologies that are still in use today, most notably the tailless configuration. The X-36A still points the way forward to advanced UAV’s of the future.
