Explanation or story behind the patch: During the NASA F-18 High Alpha Research Vehicle (HARV) project there were many partners that participated with NASA and assisted NASA Dryden. One of these was the Naval Air Weapons Center Aircraft Division at China Lake. China Lake was instrumental in helping the NASA team reprogram the Mission Computers of the F-18 HARV aircraft to achieve the goals of the NASA High Angle-of-attack Technology Program (HATP) and the High Alpha Research Vehicle (HARV).
