NASA’s Crawler-Transporter Adorned with Artemis Logo Ahead of Roll-Out

Teams recently added eight new Artemis logos to NASA’s Crawler-Transporter 2. Artemis – the twin sister of Apollo and goddess of the Moon – is also the name of the NASA missions that will take humanity back to the Moon, paving the way for a long-term lunar presence and serving as a steppingstone to Mars.

The massive crawler-transporter, based at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, soon will haul the Space Launch System rocket – the largest ever built – and the Orion spacecraft to Launch Pad 39B for a mid-March wet dress rehearsal ahead of the Artemis I launch. Artemis I will be the first integrated test of NASA’s deep space exploration systems: the Orion spacecraft, Space Launch System rocket, and the ground systems at Kennedy.
