G-III Landing Gear Noise Reduction Project

The gray porous aluminum fairing over the landing gear was designed using Computational Fluid Dynamic predictions of the acoustics to reduce landing gear noise. As progress is made on reducing the noise of engines and flaps, landing gear have become the next target for noise research. These fairings will be flown in late summer 2017 at AFRC.
