NASA’s Shuttle Carrier Aircraft with space shuttle Endeavour on top, accompanied by a NASA F/A-18 chase plane, descends over the Hollywood Park racetrack in Inglewood on final approach to Los Angeles International Airport in the concluding moments of their Tour of California on Sept. 21, 2012. The tour of California and Los Angeles landmarks on the final segment of Endeavour’s ferry flight from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to Los Angeles was the last time a space shuttle was aloft, either in space or in the air. Endeavour will now become the centerpiece of an exhibit at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.September 21, 2012
