Before reaching Saturn, Cassini flew by Jupiter and observed the planet in tandem with Galileo. Cassini entered into orbit around Saturn and began its study of Saturn and its moons. Due to Cassini’s success the mission was extended to study Saturn’s northern summer solstice in 2017. The solstice mission calls for an addition 155 orbits, 54 flybys of Titan and 11 flybys of Enceladus.
