“A Century at Langley,” written by Joe Chambers, is now available to the general public via Issuu at this link. The book is a pictorial history of Langley providing vivid detail from the center’s inception in 1917 as Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory to the present day. The photos chronicle the center’s many achievements over that span of time and the accomplishments that have helped to shape the world we live in today. Those victories — both great and small — were made possible through the hard work, resourcefulness and creativity of Langley’s people. Tens of thousands of them — engineers, scientists, technicians, support personnel and the center’s partners — devoted themselves to the advancement of flight, and later, space exploration and the study of our home planet, Earth.
