Mark Grant I was born shortly before Apollo 11 landed on the Moon; and one of my earliest memories is standing outside the house with my parents and siblings, trying to spot ASTP as it passed over the British Isles one day.

I studied Physics at Oxford, specialising in Nuclear Physics and Astrophysics. Since then, I've seen several space shuttle launches and a landing at KSC. I've also co-authored two papers on space cookery for the International Astronautical Federation.

I now live in Canada, where I develop software for satellite ground stations; and, in my spare time, when not working on low-budget movies, I help develop PC-based simulations of the Apollo missions.

I'm still hoping to get a chance to walk on the Moon myself one day; with space tourism finally taking off, perhaps that idea's not so far-fetched anymore.

The photo was taken at the Cape, of course. That's STS-39 on the pad.
