PROGRAM/PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESOURCE LIST #34
Revised October 2017
Provided by the NASA Headquarters Library
“Many hands make light work”, Proverbs, John Heywood
Today, as more and more nations have the capability to build and launch spacecraft, and economic troubles have compressed the budgets of space agencies across the globe, the old mindset of international competition for “space firsts” has made way for international cooperation in space to share costs and to take advantage of the special talents and facilities of each country for a common goal.
The greatest example of this approach is the International Space Station, which is supported by the United States, Russia, the European Space Agency, Canada, and Japan. This resource list covers general issues of international cooperation in space.
The library also has special lists that cover issues specific to cooperating with Russia, Japan, the European Space Agency, and India. The library has a webpage of links to other space agencies. If you are a NASA HQ employee, please consider subscribing to our news alert on international cooperation to get the latest word on the subject.
