We Asked NASA’s Chief Technologist…Why NASA?

Before starting his 15-year career at America’s space program, NASA Chief Technologist Douglas Terrier worked in the commercial aerospace sector for 23 years. As an engineering and project manager for Lockheed Martin, Terrier was a senior leader for several highly successful Department of Defense development projects and flight programs including: The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter; F-22 Raptor fighter program; A-12 Lightning program; and the National Aerospace Plane concept. A feeling of accomplishment, a drive for new and exciting projects and pursuit of a childhood dream propelled Terrier from a small village in Jamaica to service as a civil servant with America’s space agency.
