NASA’s Lunar Trailblazer

Lunar Trailblazer is a pioneering smallsat that will orbit Earth's Moon to detect and map water on the surface. The mission will improve our understanding of the Moon’s water and geology by determining the form, abundance, and distribution of water across the lunar surface. Lunar Trailblazer will begin its journey to lunar orbit as a rideshare with the Intuitive Machines IM2 mission.

Part of the agency’s broader Artemis campaign, CLPS aims to conduct science on the Moon for the benefit of all, including experiments and demos that support missions with crew on the lunar surface.
