Early Stage Innovations (ESI)
The goal of Early Stage Innovations (ESI) is to accelerate the development of groundbreaking, high-risk/high-payoff space technologies to support the future space science and exploration needs of NASA, other government agencies, and the commercial space sector. Awards result from successful proposals to the ESI Appendix to the SpaceTech-REDDI NASA Research Announcement. The ESI Appendix is expected to be released annually and will feature specific topics. Accredited U.S. universities are eligible to submit proposals; teaming and collaboration are permitted as specified in the Appendix. Awards are expected to be a maximum of three years, and the total award value may not exceed $750K, and the amount in any one year may not exceed $250K. All amounts must be justified.
