The 26 meter (85 foot) antenna in Honeysuckle Creek, Australia, was built in 1967 as part of the Manned Space Flight Network (MSFN) to support the lunar phase of the Apollo mission to the Moon. Along with Parkes Radio Observatory and Goldstone, California, Honeysuckle Creek had the privilege of receiving the first pictures from the surface of the Moon in 1969. Operations ceased in 1981 and the antenna was transferred to the Canberra Deep Space Communications Complex and renamed Deep Space Station 46 (DSS-46).
