Hayabusa 2 is a Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) mission planning to rendezvous with an asteroid, land a small probe and three miniature rovers on the surface, and then return samples to Earth. Hayabusa is projected to arrive at asteroid 1999 JU3, also called “Ryugu,” in 2018.
