A HiCAM Project Technical Highlight
Team members from 20 organizations across the country recently discussed progress on all technology development tasks underway in NASA’s Hi-Rate Composite Aircraft Manufacturing (HiCAM) project.
NASA and its partners in the Advanced Composites Consortium gathered at the agency’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, May 9-11.
Leaders within HiCAM partner organizations remarked they are impressed by the aggressiveness of the teams and the detail to which teams are considering manufacturing cost savings.
They said it’s a testament to the project, the production experience of the partners, and the importance of cost-share to ensure proper balance and relevance in the technologies being studied.
With this partnership and shared investment, the project is increasing the likelihood of technologies being adopted for next generation transports.
