Laurence “Larry” A. Sivic

Associate Director, NASA’s Glenn Research Center

Laurence “Larry” Sivic was appointed associate director of NASA’s Glenn Research Center in 2019. In this capacity, he serves as the center’s chief operating officer responsible for aligning Glenn’s institutional resources and infrastructure to meet current and future NASA mission needs. Glenn has an annual budget of approximately $900 million and a staff of more than 3,200 civil servants and contractors at its Lewis Field in Cleveland and NASA’s Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio.  

Prior to his role as associate director, Sivic served as NASA Glenn’s chief financial officer (CFO) from 2011 to 2019 and was responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, and administration of all center budgeting, accounting, business systems, financial audits, internal controls, and cost-estimating activities. 

Sivic joined NASA in 2004 after an extensive career with Accenture, implementing enterprise resource planning systems such as Systems Applications and Products in data processing. During his career with NASA, he has served as chief of the Mission Support and Integration Office, supporting the center and agency with his functional and technical knowledge, contributing to the various Integrated Enterprise Management Programs.  

Sivic serves on the Board of Directors for the Great Lakes Science Center, which is home to the NASA Glenn Visitor Center. He is the recipient of a Presidential Rank Award and two Outstanding Leadership Medals. He was named Crain’s Cleveland Business non-profit CFO of the Year in 2017 and was also the recipient of the 2016 Ohio Diversity Council’s Leadership Excellence Award. 

A native of Broadview Heights, Ohio, Sivic earned his Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Bowling Green State University.
