Wil Glaser

Captain Wil Glaser joined the Air Force as an officer in the 38F Force Support Officer Career field. He was assigned to numerous jobs to include the CENTCOM Protocol Officer, an Initial Skills Training 
instructor, and he led the Commander’s Support Staff for Second Air Force.

Wil hit the ground running, helping at the Louisiana STEM Fest at the Super Dome his first weekend, working a Family Day shortly after, and picking up more responsibilities as time went on. Just having his foot in the door at NASA helped prosper his success. As soon as he heard a position opened up in the strategic communications office, he applied and accepted a job offer. 

Trish Elliston

Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Trish Elliston was an Intelligence Officer and Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator at U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston.

After a 25-year career in the military spanning both Navy and Coast Guard Elliston decided to apply to the SkillBridge program at NASA Johnson Space Center. LCDR Elliston is now Mrs. Elliston and is a Security Specialist in the Protective Services Division. Read more about Trish’s experience on our NASA Interns Blog!

Lucy Gregory

Specialist 4 Lucy Gregory was a Cyber Operations Specialist in the Space Force, and previously a Client Systems Technician in the Air Force.

Specialist 4 Lucy Gregory was a Cyber Operations Specialist in the Space Force, and previously a Client Systems Technician in the Air Force. She is now a Service Integration Specialist within the Office of the Chief Information Officer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

After her time in the Space and Air Force, NASA felt like the natural next step for her career.  She participated in SkillBridge with NASA’s Gateway Program on the cybersecurity team, and while there, secured her next position at NASA. Lucy is now a Service Integration Specialist within the Office of the Chief Information Officer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

Carl Johnson

U.S. Army Captain Carl Johnson served as an Engineering Officer in the United States Army for 10 years, holding positions ranging from Platoon Leader to Company Commander. While in the Army, he earned his Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology (MS&T).

While deciding to leave the Army, Johnson fell in love with NASA when his fiancée, a NASA Pathways intern herself, showed him around. He ended up interning with ER5 (Dynamic Systems Test Branch) at Johnson Space Center, working on the Lunar Terrain Vehicle Ground Test Unit (LTV-GTU) and the Active Response Gravity Offload System (ARGOS). It was the perfect fit for him, and he started full-time in September 2023 with the branch that gave him the initial opportunity. He is currently an Automation and Robotics Systems engineer for ER5.

Miguel Shears

Master Gunnery Sergeant Miguel Shears was an Operations Chief at Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Arizona.

After over a 30-year career in the Marine Corps, Miguel decided to apply to the SkillBridge program and use his training at the Johnson Space Center, NASA. Miguel is now a Craig Technologies/KBR employee as an Instructional Systems Designer at the FOD, CK2, Training Branch.
