ISS Daily Summary Report – 6/11/2024
Boeing CST-100 Crewed Flight Test (CFT): Today, the CFT crew completed a handover with experienced crewmembers, familiarizing them with life and work on board the ISS. The CFT crew also assisted the ISS crew by preparing for tomorrow’s Genes in Space Molecular Operations and Sequencing (GiSMOS) experiment with a procedure review and On-board Training (OBT).
Payloads:
Plasma Kristall-4 (PK-4): The crew verified that the Video Monitor was switched on and that the Columbus Video Camera (VCA2) was on the monitor laptop screen for ground team monitoring. PK-4 looks at complex or “dusty” plasmas, in which small particles are suspended and form patterns in ionized gas. More information on PK-4 can be found here.
Sleep in Orbit: The crew concluded Monday night’s science session and prepared for the Tuesday night session. More information on the Sleep in Orbit experiment can be found here.
Systems:
Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Preparation Activities: The crew performed various activities in preparation for the three upcoming EVAs in June. They completed an EVA Procedure Review & Conference and an EVA Cuff Checklist Print. These activities are in preparation for the upcoming Radio Frequency Group (RFG) Retrieval Part 2.5 EVA, CP9 External High-Definition Camera (EHDC) Remove & Replace (R&R) EVA, and ISS Roll-Out Solar Array (IROSA) 2A Preparation EVA.
