At NASA Ames Research Center, Aerospace Simulation forms an integral part of a wide range of research, from design of aerospace vehicles, systems, and operations; human factors studies; accident investigations; to studies aimed at improving aviation safety and efficiency. Ames’ simulation capabilities have been critical to numerous NASA programs over the years, including the Space Shuttle for engineering improvements and Astronaut training. Ames has successfully partnered with other government agencies, industry, and academia, to meet strategic present and future aerospace needs of the Nation; such as the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program’s test and evaluations, and the FAA’s NextGen airspace goals. We stand ready with tools, models, and experts to ensure success of future programs by supporting the development, certification, and training for the Human Landing System (HLS) and Gateway operations for the Artemis lunar exploration program, and by evaluating revolutionary electric vehicles and studying concepts of operations for Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
