Open Science Success Stories: Alice Finkelstein and Angela Mo

Welcome to our “Open Science Success Stories”. These narratives showcase insights shared by Open Science Data Repository (OSDR) users and underscore the significance of raising public awareness about the availability of these data. This endeavor is vital in creating diverse opportunities for individuals to engage in scientific research, including the option to become part of the AWG community regardless of age or career level.

This newest audio interview features Alice Finkelstein and Angela Mo, two current undergraduates who participated in GeneLab for High Schools (GL4HS) in 2022. Alice is a second year student at Stanford University and Angela is a first year student at Carnegie Mellon University. Both share their experiences about how GL4HS introduced them to OSDR, and how that opened the door for them to contribute to a publication that was part of the summer SOMA publications in the 2024 Nature press package.

Be inspired by these young space biology contributors as they showcase the power of knowledge sharing through free and public databases like OSDR.
