The human research experiment aims to define targeted, more efficient dietary interventions to maintain crew health and performance as well as the food system requirements to support these interventions.

JSC offers a diverse array of research laboratories to advance space exploration and astronaut health.

Human Factors & Performance​ 

JSC’s human factors and performance experts provide evaluation, testing and analysis for design of human system interactions including displays and controls, workstations, and vehicle and habitat environments. We seek insights into how to structure successful teams for space missions, as well as how to design missions so that human factors considerations are optimized.

Astromaterials Curation & Research​ 

With a rich history rooted in the Apollo era, JSC oversees the largest and most comprehensive collection of extraterrestrial samples globally. We have a state-of-the-art laboratory suite serving as a national resource for scientists across the globe.

Imagery Acquisition & Analysis ​ 

Analysis of spaceflight imagery can quantify distances, sizes, motion and hardware conditions, all things not easily deduced from other sources of mission data.
