PALMDALE – NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center will host an open house and rededication of its Educator Resource and Visitor Centers on May 19 at the AERO Institute in Palmdale. Educators, students, and the general public are invited to attend the event from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Institute, 38256 Sierra Highway, Suite A, Palmdale.
A rededication ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. with NASA Dryden director David McBride, Dryden education lead Katrina Emery, Susan Miller, AERO Institute executive director and Palmdale mayor Jim Ledford participating. Tours of the Education Resource Center and Visitor Center will be offered from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
“The relocation of the Education Resource Center to the AERO Institute will make NASA’s education resources more accessible to the public, while providing greater opportunities for NASA Dryden to partner with the communities of the Antelope Valley and unite in the quest to further science technology, engineering and mathematics education,” said Russ Billings, NASA Dryden pre-college programs manager.
The Educator Resource Center’s materials, interactive exhibits and activities reflect NASA research and technology development in such curriculum areas as life science, physical science, astronomy, energy, Earth resources, environment, mathematics, geography and careers in aerospace.
