NASA astronauts take a Psychomotor Vigilance Task (PVT) test while doing simulated space maneuvers on the ocean floor during NEEMO 16.

NASA astronauts practice simulated space maneuvers on the ocean floor during NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations (NEEMO) 16 in 2012. They took a 3-minute Psychomotor Vigilance Task (PVT) test to help refine the test’s algorithm for use in orbit. Pulsar Informatics Inc. has commercialized the PVT and sells it to government and businesses, which use it to monitor behavioral alertness.
